This class is for any Christian including pastors, elders, and church members who desire to learn more about applying Scripture to the problems of life. In this class, we cover theological principles for the interpersonal ministry of the Word, practical tips for one-on-one meetings, and instruction on a wide variety of topics that people regularly encounter in church life.
Reformed biblical counseling is like other forms of biblical counseling. We try to help others apply God's Word to the issues and struggles that many people face. In particular, we teach and practice biblical counseling from an explicitly Reformed perspective, meaning that we look to the Reformed confessions as faithful and tested summaries of the truths contained in the Scriptures. You do not have to be Reformed to take this class, and you will quickly find that we quote Scripture much more than any Reformed theologian. We also hope that you will come to see the beauty of this theological heritage.
Our class officially launches in the Fall. Pre-ordering the course secures your seat in the class. Don't worry, if you pre-order the class, you are free to cancel your pre-order at any time.
Students are purchasing one-year (365-day) access to the course materials. Students are not required to complete all the material and lectures, but only those who complete all their assignments on Thinkific will be awarded a certificate of completion. Each lecture comes with extensive notes so that students can save and review the class material once the course has formally ended.
Our training model prioritizes learning within community. Those who pre-order the class are expected to commit to monthly gatherings at the host location, usually a church or seminary. If you are not able to gather in person for this training, you are more than free to join our online cohort.
Certainly! Please visit our training and education page on our base website in order to let us know that you would like to host a class. https://reformedcounseling.org/training/
We do offer discounts to members of partner churches. Partner churches financially support IRBC through regular collections or through their missions budget. Members of partner churches receive $100 off the class while church leadership (pastors and elders) receive a 50% discount. If you are part of a church with a big cohort taking the class, talk to your leadership about becoming an IRBC partner. You can learn more about our partnership program at Reformedcounseling.org/ministry-partners. If you are a member of a partner church, please contact your elders or church leadership for your specific discount code. For any other questions, contact [email protected].
This training only satisfies the education requirements for IRBC certification. If you are interested in completing steps toward certification with IRBC as you complete this course, please visit Reformedcounseling.org/certification.
There is a 14-day window for cancellation or refund once the class has begun. Once that window has passed, we are unable to offer refunds.
